Chubu Electric Power Co Ltd announced that it has commenced commercial operations at 18 MW/25 MWp Miyako Kuzakai solar PV park, covering an area of 490,000 sq m (5.27 million sq ft) in Miyako town, Iwate prefecture, Japan.
The facility can generate up to 27 million kWh per year, enough to meet the demand of some 8,600 local homes.
The Miyako Kuzakai Solar Park was developed in partnership with Total Solar, a subsidiary of France's Total SA. The two parties own the asset equally.
