The Chilean Ministry of National Assets has awarded the use of public land to Statkraft for the development of a 400 MW wind-plus-storage project in the region of Antofagasta.
The company will develop, build and operate the facility located in about 2,610 hectares of land auctioned by the government in Taltal. Statkraft will invest up to US$500 million for the project.
The wind farm is expected to be operational by 2030. The concession that was awarded is for a period of 40 years.
