Alcoa Corporation has awarded Centrica a two-year contract for commercial services in support for a wind power purchase agreement (PPA) deals in Norway.
The works involved includes the delivery of dynamic shaping and balancing services for power generation at the 197 MW Guleslettene wind park and power consumption at Alcoa’s plants in Norway.
The Guleslettene wind farm, to be built north of the city of Floro, is expected to be operational. Alcoa is set to buy the power output of the project under a 15-year corporate PPA deal with BlackRock Real Assets that owns the project. In addition to the PPA, the park also has a power purchase guarantee with the Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency (GIEK).
