Falck Renewables S.p.A., through its Norwegian subsidiary Falck Renewables Vind A.S., has awarded to Vestas Norway A.S. a supply contract for the purchase of 5 wind turbines V117-4.2 MW for its Okla wind farm in Norway, for an overall capacity of 21 MW and a total consideration of EUR13.1 million (US$14.6 million) approximately, entirely financed with own resources. The parties also executed a long-term operations and maintenance agreement.
Balance of plant works is due to start soon, to be completed by mid-2020. Turbines are expected to arrive at the site in summer 2020 with commercial operations expected end of October 2020.
The wind farm is located on the Western coast of Norway on the Stadlandet peninsula near Selje, within Sognog Fjordane county. The turbines have been specifically optimised for the high-wind project, have a maximum rated capacity of 4.2 MW each and are mounted on 90-metre towers and a maximum height of 148.5 meters. Average annual production of 75 GWh is expected.
