China Development Integration Limited (CDIL) has partnered with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) for the EPC+F (engineering, procurement, construction + financing) of a 1.1 GW solar photovoltaic facility in Port Açu in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The 1100 MW solar project will be built through CDIL’s subsidiary China-Brazil Integration Group Limited via a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in Brazil. The project represents about US$1 billion of investment in the form of EPC+F and additional Equity funds mainly from China.
The solar farm will be developed in two stages with the 300 MW phase I to be installed in about 6.6 million sq.m and an 800 MW phase II that will be located in four blocks of about 11 million sq.m. land area. CMEC will deliver a complete range of professional solutions that include engineering design, procurement of local materials and services, project construction, recruitment of locally trained personnel, and maintenance of safety standards and will engage with local Brazilian engineering firms to handle the local operation.
