Siemens Gamesa has awarded the installation contract for 26 wind turbines to Cadeler, for the Aflandshage offshore wind project in Copenhagen, Denmark. Cadeler will manage both the transportation and installation of the equipment, utilizing its O-class ships for the project. This facility is one of the numerous planned offshore facilities in Danish waters designed to promote environmental advancement and supply the country with renewable electric power.
HOFOR owns the Aflandshage offshore wind farm with a potential capacity of 300 MW. It will play a vital role in the realization of the Danish government's climate action plan goals. Improving offshore wind capacity is a primary component of Denmark's plan to reduce carbon emissions and cut greenhouse gas emissions by 70% by 2030.
