Enel Green Power SpA has received approval from Aneel to the launch of commercial operations at 145.68 MW of solar plants in Sao Goncalo do Gurguei city, Piaui, Brazil.
The 45.68 MW UFV Sao Goncalo 1, 50 MW UFV Sao Goncalo 2 and 50 MW UFV Sao Goncalo 21 solar photovoltaic plants, are part of the 608 MW Sao Goncalo solar asset. The 475 MW of the Sao Goncalo complex is currently operational.
Once fully operational, the 608 MW Sao Goncalo solar farm is expected to generate more than 1,500 GWh of electricity a year, while offsetting 860,000 tonnes of carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
