Botswana approves development of 100 MW coal bed methane-to-power project

Tlou Energy Limited has received the final environmental approval required to move ahead with its Lesedi coalbed methane project in Botswana. Botswana’s Department of Environmental Affairs had approved the downstream environmental impact statement.

The project involves the development of up to 100 MW power generation facilities that will generate electricity from coal bed methane sourced from the Lesedi gas fields located in the Central District of Botswana.

Initial development of up to 10 MW is planned.  It will start with 2 MW of power which will be expanded as further drilling is conducted and additional gas becomes available.
