The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has approved the sale of the equity shares in the 583 MW wind power portfolio located in Brazil to energy developer Omega Geracao. The deal includes a 78% stake in the Eolica Santa Vitoria do Palmar and a 99.99% interest in the Hermenegildo I, II, III, and Chui IX special purpose companies (SPEs).
Eletrobras has sold the controlling interest in the wind projects for a total deal of approximately BRL1.5 billion (US$281.7 million).
In Septemer, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) of Brazil has approved the sale of an interest in the wind complex. The deal is still subjected to approval by the South Regional Development Bank (BRDE) of Brazil.
