There will be installed 149 aerogenerators in the municipalities of Pedra Grande and São Bento do Norte, as well as a transmission line with 32 km Installed capacity will be enough to supply 570 thousand homes Project will generate 710 direct jobs during construction
The Board of the National Economic and Social Development Bank (BNDES) approved a financing of R $ 619.4 million (US$165.9 million) for the implementation of thirteen wind farms, in the municipalities of Pedra Grande and São Bento do Norte, in Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to the system of transmission. In total, 149 wind turbines will be installed.
The parks will have an installed generation capacity of 312.9 MW, sufficient energy to supply about 570 thousand homes. The project consists of the implementation of two units: the Cutia Wind Complex and the Bento Miguel Wind Complex. Both will have facilities in the municipalities of Pedra Grande and São Bento do Norte, in Rio Grande do Norte.
The Cutia Complex will have seven wind farms, totaling 86 wind turbines, with an installed capacity of 180.6 MW. The complex's parks are expected to enter full commercial operation by January 2019.
The Bento Miguel Complex, with six wind farms, will have 63 wind turbines, with an installed capacity of 132.3 MW. Its parks should be in operational phase as of January 2019.
The two complexes will share a 32 km long transmission substation and a transmission line, connected to the Bullos substation, owned by Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco (Chesf).
