Through an energy tender held, Brazilian electric utility Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras (Eletrobras) has closed the sale of its interests in 64 special purpose entities (SPE) in 11 lots, including three wind power generation and eight power transmission line lots.
The sale represents a total investment of BRL 1.3 billion (USD 347.800m) for its renewable energy assets. In all, Eletrobras auctioned its SPEs in 18 lots, eight wind for a total capacity of 1,605 MW and 10 lots for power transmission lines totalling 2,910 km (1,808 miles). It sought to raise at least BRL 3.1 billion (USD829.370 m) in total, but eight lots received no proposals at all. Moreover, just two lots were traded above the minimum price.
