Bio Capital Limited (BCL), a joint venture of Aurium Capital Markets (Aurium), Equitix and Helios Energy Investments (Helios), has completed the acquisition of a 50% interest in the Energen Biogas (EBG) anaerobic digestion (AD) facility from Renewi plc.
EBG contributed £1.6m (USD2.09813 m) to Group profit before tax in the year ended 31 March 2018. The sale was completed for an undisclosed cash consideration which will result in £10m (USD13.1133 m) profit on sale (proceeds above book value).
The acquired asset is located in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, Scotland in UK. The facility processes 120,000 tonnes of food-waste per annum and generates 33GWh of electricity and 44GWh of biogas (which is converted into biomethane for injection into the gas grid) annually.
