British International Investment (BII) and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) have announced a joint commitment of US$116 million to the African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4 (AIIF4), which is managed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM).
Their contribution is intended to assist AIIF4 in meeting its target fund size of US$500 million. Through the fund, AIIM will make investments in high-impact infrastructure projects located across Africa with at least 20% of the capital committed to being invested in climate finance qualifying projects.
BII and FMO have each pledged a total of US$40 million and US$76 million, respectively.
