Bechtel has been selected as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the development of the 272 MWdc solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Fort Bend County, Texas, USA.
The construction of the Cutlass Solar II solar PV facility is expected to start in Q1 of 2023 with a target commissioning by Q4 of 2024. The project is owned by Sabanci Renewables, Inc., a subsidiary of Sabanci Holding, one of Turkey’s leading companies. Sabanci Renewables will own and operate the facility.
Once operational, the project will generate clean energy for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas’ Houston Zone. It is expected to produce enough power for up to 40,000 homes and offset about 600,000 carbon emissions per year.
