Banco Santander SA has provided debt financing that amounts to GBP100 million (US$122.6 million) to two solar projects of NextEnergy Capital Ltd.

The non-recourse debt financing will support the development of the 75 MW Llanwern solar photovoltaic plant in South Wales and the 40 MW Strensham solar photovoltaic facility in Worcestershire, UK. The two projects will have a combined generating capacity of 115 MW and would require up to GBP60 million for the construction.

The projects will not rely on subsidies from the government. The construction of the projects is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2020.
