Balance Power to develop 49.5 MW battery storage project in Cornwall

Cornwall County Council has approved Balance Power's 49.5 MW battery storage project in St. Austell, Cornwall, England, following significant community engagement, parish council meetings, and a pre-application.

The battery system will be opened in 2028 and is expected to reduce approximately 258,000 tonnes of CO2 over the course of its lifetime.

The company has planning approvals for 396 MW of generating capacity, including 164 MW in 2022, and 1.2 GW under development. Balance Power has completed 34 energy projects and is increasing its portfolio in the UK.
