AMPYR Solar Europe (ASE) has announced the opening of its 45 MWp Gorgast solar park cluster in Brandenburg, Germany. The cluster combines three photovoltaic sites — Gorgast Bahn, Gorgast Gewächshaus and Manschnow — operating together as a single plant. Spanning 40.6 hectares and comprising almost 75,000 solar panels, the project generates enough clean electricity to power around 13,000 households while avoiding about 22,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. A key feature of the development is the transformation of a previously unused brownfield site at Gorgast Gewächshaus into a productive solar facility.
The project involved significant efforts, including demolition, removal of unexploded ordnance, and robust environmental and conservation measures. Developed in partnership with the local municipality and businesses, the Gorgast cluster supports regional sustainability.
