Akuo has started the commercial operation of the 22 MW O’MEGA 1 floating solar photovoltaic facility located in Piolenc, southern France.
Equans subsidiary Bouygues Energies & Services was in charge of the development and construction of the solar project. An independent consultant firm began ecological monitoring of the O'MEGA 1 site's fauna and flora when the first floating structures were placed and will continue throughout the solar plant's life cycle.
The floating solar farm is an extension project of the O’MEGA 1 plant that was inaugurated in October 2019.
