AFRY Appointed for 191 MW Thana Plaun Hydropower Project in Himachal Pradesh

The project will support the expansion of renewable energy generation and contribute to India's long-term energy transition.

Located on the Beas River in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, the Thana Plaun Hydropower Project will support the state's ambitions to expand renewable energy generation and strengthen long-term energy security. The project will contribute renewable electricity to India's growing energy system, where hydropower plays an important role in providing reliable, flexible and low-carbon power.

AFRY’s assignment will be carried out in two phases. The first phase covers tender-stage engineering and procurement support, while the second phase will include detailed design, construction supervision and other project delivery services during implementation. The project is expected to be delivered in 2032.
