Trusted partner confirmed for 90 MW Floating Solar PV project in Thailand

National Power Supply Public Co., Ltd (NPS) has awarded AFRY a new owner’s engineering service assignment for its floating solar photovoltaic (PV) expansion project in Prachinburi, eastern Thailand.

NPS floating solar PV project is already one of the largest projects of its kind in the country. With the expansion of another 30 MW, the floating solar installation will total 90 MW, with one further expansion still being planned. This comprehensive project, encompassing all three phases, will supply generated power to NPS at a 22 kV level. The project will help to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and speed up the energy transition in the country.

AFRY's responsibilities include preparing tender documents for various packages, assessing proposals, aiding in contract negotiations, project management, design evaluation, and monitoring the construction and commissioning of the floating solar PV project.

AFRY is one of the power sector engineering consulting companies in Thailand, with substantial involvement in the design and construction of more than 65 power plants and over 250 power sector-related assignments in the country.
