The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has granted a $500 million loan to support Indonesia's energy sector reforms to increase fiscal sustainability and governance, grow private sector investments in clean and renewable energy, and foster green recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
ADB will also manage a US$15 million loan for the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund's Sustainable and Inclusive Energy Program's third subprogram. The project will be co-financed by the German Development Cooperation, through KfW, and the Economic Development Cooperation Fund.
The subprogram builds on two preceding subprograms supporting Indonesian energy sector reforms from 2014 to 2017 and corresponds with ADB's Strategy 2030 operational priorities.
