ACWA Power has connected the 300 MW Sakaka solar photovoltaic plant to the electrical grid in Saudi Arabia. The solar plant is scheduled to be operational by the end of the year.
In January 2018, the project has been awarded to a consortium led by ACWA POWER.
The Sakaka solar plant has an investment of about SAR1.2 billion (US$319.77 million) and a PPA price of SAR0.08781( US$0.0234) kWh.
The plant is expected to generate enough power for about 45,000 homes, once fully operational.
