Engie has increased its stake in the 194 MW Goya portfolio of operational wind farms in Spain.
Engie has agreed to purchase a 51% stake previously held by Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis Investment Managers, in the Goya portfolio, encompassing seven wind farms. This acquisition will boost Engie's ownership from 15% to 66%. The Goya portfolio comprises assets located in Aguilon, Azuara, Herrera de los Navarros, and Fuendetodos in the province of Zaragoza, all of which have been operational since 2020. Notably, this renewable energy initiative in Spain is among the early projects to be developed without subsidies and marks the first to enter into a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Engie, spanning 13 years. In October 2023, the project secured refinancing from Natixis CIB.
