ACCIONA Energía has signed a 10-year agreement to supply more than 55,000MWh/year of renewable electricity to Grupo Violas' subsidiaries in Portugal, including Solverde, Clip, and Cotesi.
The energy source will be certified via the issuance of 100% Renewable Guarantees of Origin by the Entidade Emissora de Garantas de Origem (EEGO) platform of Rede Elétrica Nacional (REN). With this deal, Grupo Violas will reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 10,000 tons per year, comparable to planting 18,000 trees or removing 4,000 automobiles.
ACCIONA Energia has 166 MW of renewable generation assets in Portugal, including wind and solar plants, in addition to its clean energy business.
