Acciona Energia Chile SpA, a unit of Spanish renewable energy group Acciona SA, has entered into an Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) for the development of the 43.2 MW wind project in the region of La Araucania.
The environmental impact statement (EIS) will be submitted to the Spanish authority. Once the EIS will be granted, the developers will be built in the commune of Renaico. It will have nine 4.8-MW wind turbines that will be connected to an underground transmission line (33 kV).
The construction of the project is expected to start in June 2021. Once operational, it will generate up to 135 GWh of energy per year.
