ACCIONA Energía has closed the sale of the San Juan de Marcona wind farm (135.7 MW) in Peru to Luz del Sur S.A.A. The transaction was formalized following approval of the corresponding authorizations, among them the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property Protection (INDECOPI).
The value of the transaction amounts to US$256 million. The transfer of the San Juan de Marcona wind farm is part of ACCIONA Energía's asset rotation strategy, aimed at optimizing its renewable portfolio and strengthening the group's financial profile by crystallizing value. In this context, the company has already reached agreements for the sale of nearly 2.6GW of renewable facilities in Spain, the USA, Mexico, South Africa, Peru, and Costa Rica, for an approximate value of €3.2 billion (US$3.7 billion).
