Central Puerto S.A. has announced that its subsidiaries have secured approval to commence commercial operations of the Achiras I wind farm, which has an installed capacity of 48 MW (net power) and is located in Córdoba, central Argentina, starting on September 20, 2018.
The project was developed by CP Achiras S.A., a subsidiary of CP Renovables S.A. in which Central Puerto holds a controlling equity stake, and had the financial support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), a member of Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires S.A.
With the inclusion of Achiras I wind farm, the consolidated installed capacity of Central Puerto increased 1%, totaling now 3,810 MW.
In addition to Achiras I wind farm, CP Renovables, through its subsidiary CP La Castellana S.A., operates the wind farm La Castallana I, which has an installed capacity of 99 MW.
