Entrix has been selected by The Dillinger Group to optimize and commercialize the 144 MWh Schloen co-location battery energy storage system (BESS) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The project integrates a utility-scale BESS with a photovoltaic plant and is expected to commence commercial operations at the end of June 2026. Under the partnership, Entrix will leverage its AI-driven optimization and energy trading platform to maximize the project's value by optimizing battery operations and market participation.
The project combines the PV Schloen solar park in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with a 36 MW / 144 MWh BESS, making it one of Germany's first utility-scale green co-location projects of its kind. The four-hour battery is charged exclusively using electricity generated by the adjacent photovoltaic facility, storing excess solar power during periods of high generation and discharging it back to the grid when electricity demand increases. This approach enhances renewable energy utilization while improving grid flexibility and stability.
The project will be connected to the e.dis Netz GmbH electricity grid, with Entrix responsible for optimizing the battery's operation across key energy markets, including the day-ahead and intraday markets. Using AI-powered trading algorithms, Entrix continuously evaluates real-time market conditions, technical operating parameters, and the battery's state of charge to maximize revenue while ensuring efficient and flexible system performance.
