Verbund, BayWa commission 147.6 MWp Solar PV project in Spain

Anheuser-Busch InBev SA (AB InBev) has announced the inauguration of the 147.6 MWp Verbund Pinos Puente solar project in the southern part of Spain.

Verbund Pinos Puente solar park will be built over an area of 161 ha generating approximately 260 GWh per year, which is enough energy for AB InBev to produce over 10 billion beers per year. The deal also enables the brewer to meet its whole electricity demand in Western Europe with renewable energy sources.

The initial developer, BayWa r.e., inked a 10-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with AB InBev, along with a second solar farm that will be connected to the grid by the end of October.
