Iberdrola has signed a contract with the Spanish company Gonvarri Solar Steel to supply its racking system for a 200 MW solar PV project in the town of Alcantara, in Spain.
Gonvarri Solar Steel will be supplying the solar plant with 9,684 RackSmarT fixed structures that are adaptable to large slopes and any module type configuration.
The solar farm will consist of approximately 307,500 solar panels capable of generating 313,650 MWh of green energy annually and sufficient to power 100,000 homes in Extremadura. The solar plant will generate enough renewable energy to avoid 43,250 tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere.
The General Directorate for Energy of the Department of Ecological Transition has issued the administrative authority for the Salto de Chira pumped-storage hydroelectric power station project.
