JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., one of the largest and innovative solar module manufacturers in the world, announced on Friday, November 29, that it has supplied 300MW of its high energy density Tiger panels for an ultra-high voltage demonstration plant in Qinghai Province, China.
The 300 MW Qinghai Ultra High Voltage Demonstration Plant in China’s Qinghai Province is the first ground-mounted utility project in the world to install JinkoSolar's Tiger panels which have 20.4% module efficiency. JinkoSolar's efficient Tiger series deliver value as a result of a unique tiling ribbon that improves reliability and efficiency and outperforms conventional panel yield in real-world conditions such as partial shading and elevated temperatures.
Mr. Kangping Chen, CEO of JinkoSolar, commented, "As a top global module supplier, we are constantly innovating and improving the quality products and I am proud to have the opportunity to demonstrate their effectiveness by installing them for the first time on a ground-mounted utility project. Our Tiger panels are some of our most sought-after products due to their application of unique tiling ribbon technology which removes any gaps between the cells, improving reliability and efficiency."
JinkoSolar announced the launch of a new Tiger module earlier this year in October at All-Energy Australia 2019, Australia's largest national showcase of clean and renewable energy, held in Melbourne. With module efficiency of 20.4%, the new Tiger module is capable of generating up to 460 Wp of peak power output which is suitable for both utility and rooftop installations. “Our new Tiger module delivers significantly higher power output and an easy performance boost that doesn’t require much extra effort for customers to install,” said Kangping Chen, CEO of JinkoSolar, “This is another step forward technologically for JinkoSolar and demonstrates our ability to innovate advanced technologies as we accelerate towards the era of grid parity.”
Energy demand worldwide grew by 2.3% in 2018, representing the fastest growth during the last 10 year. According to the International Energy Asociation (IEA) this expansion has been supported by an exceptional performance driven by a robust global economy and stronger heating and cooling needs in some regions. Together, China, the United States, and India accounted for nearly 70% of the rise in energy demand around the world.
