China Everbright International Limited has signed a supplementary concession agreement with Rizhao Bureau of Housing and Urban-rural Development located in Shandong province, to invest in and construct Rizhao Waste-to-energy Project Phase II.
The total investment of the project is about CNY168 million (US$23 million), and it will be invested and constructed on a Build-Operate-Transfer basis.
The Rizhao Waste-to-energy Project Phase II will feature a 9MW turbine power generator and a 400 tonnes/day household waste processing capacity grate furnace.
The Rizhao Waste-to-energy Project Phase I is located in Shandong, an eastern Chinese province on the Yellow Sea. The facility is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 600 tonnes. It is expected to generate over 71,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually.
Once the Phase II is done, the total daily waste processing capacity of Rizhao Project will increase to 1,000 tonnes, and is expected to generate green electricity of roughly 130 million kWh per year.
