Worley has completed the 100% stake acquisition of 3sun Group Ltd, a UK-based recognised offshore wind installation, inspection and maintenance business. The transaction has been completed for a total value of US$ 25.6 m.
Worley has completed this transaction with the objective of accelerating its offshore wind strategy by providing accredited and experienced installation and O&M capabilities, thanks to 3sun’s large team of offshore technicians.
3sun has approximately 25% of market in offshore wind turbine installation, maintenance & inspection services in the UK, with around 15% of this market in Europe. They have installed over 4,000 wind turbines and are currently inspecting over 70% of the UK’s offshore wind turbines.
The acquisition of 3sun will provide Worley with a leading position in the high growth offshore wind energy services sector in the UK and Europe.
