Australian engineering company Worley Ltd has been awarded the contract to assist in the development of a 50 MW hydrogen facility planned by energy company EI-H2.
The electrolysis plant will be built in Aghada, County Cork. Once operational, the plant can provide up to 20 tonnes of green, safe hydrogen per day to the commercial market and removes 63,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually from Irish industry and power generation.
The project is expected to be commissioned by 2023.
