The business operations date (COD) for the 400 MW The Rock wind farm in Norway has been pushed back to the second quarter of 2022, due to harsh winter conditions.
The announcement was made by Aquila European Renewables Income Fund plc (AERIF) which has had a 13.7 % stake in the venture since June 2020. It confirmed that 72 of the wind park's 72 generators are operating and that they are entitled to 50 % of any revenue generated between January 1 and the COD.
The wind farm was set up in December, but low temperatures, thick snowfall, and strong winds have prevented it from being fully operational. The COD was postponed from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the second quarter of 2022 due to high wind speeds and the results of the COVID-19 pandemic.
