VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska, a subsidiary of VSB Group, has started the construction of the 46.8 MW Racibórz wind project in Poland. The facility will feature 13 Nordex N117 turbines, each with a potential of 3.6 MW.
Preparations for the wind farm began earlier in Q2, which includes constructing roadways, crane pads, and assembly sections. At the moment, the substation, cable routes, and foundation turbines are already being constructed. The wind farm is expected to be operational by the end of 2024, offering clean energy to around 40,000 households while decreasing annual carbon dioxide emissions by roughly 44,000 tonnes.
The Racibórz project is anticipated to significantly enhance renewable energy access in Poland, contributing towards reducing its reliance on fossil fuels and lowering CO2 emissions. A decrease in the carbon footprint could support the country's endeavors to meet the Paris Agreement's objectives, as well as the European Union's target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
