Virescent to buy 87.6 MWp solar projects in Uttar Pradesh

Virescent Renewable Energy Trust (VRET), backed by KKR & Co Inc, is planning to acquire 87.6 MWp of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in India from Jakson Group. 

Virescent has already signed an agreement in August 2022 to purchase a 10 MW/12.4 MWp portion of the portfolio, an operating solar park in the Lalitpur region of Uttar Pradesh. The plant, worth INR445 million (US$5.5 million), was commissioned in March 2015 and operates under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation.
