Vestas has received a conditional order to deliver 64 V235-15.0 MW wind turbines in 2025 for the 900 MW He Dreiht offshore wind project in Germany.
A single V236-15.0 MW turbine is capable of producing 80 GWh per year, enough to power about 20,000 European houses, depending on site-specific conditions. At the moment, Vesta is developing the prototype turbine, which will be installed later this year. The serial production is expected to start in 2024. Vestas will announce if and when the agreement with EnBW, the wind project owner, results in a firm and unconditional order.
Additionally, Vestas has signed a conditional agreement with Cadeler for the shipment and installation of the He Dreiht project's turbines. The installation is scheduled to begin in the Q2 2025, and the park is expected to be operational in Q4 of that year.
