Vattenfall has ordered in-turbine toilets for its 93.2 MW offshore wind project in the UK. Every turbine on the Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm will be fitted with a cubicle developed and manufactured by Pegasus Welfare Solutions (PWS) with patented technology. The cubicle can be carried and installed by two technicians within an hour.
Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm, also known as European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), is an 11-turbine offshore wind farm about 2km to 5km off Aberdeen’s coast, in north-east Scotland. It is comprised of nine 8.4 MW turbines, and two turbines that have been enhanced with further internal power modes from 8.4 MW to 8.8 MW, increasing the project's capacity to 93.2 MW. The facility covers 70% of Aberdeen’s household power demand, mitigating over 130,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
