Vattenfall AB, a Swedish utility, has opened the 72 MW Energypark Haringvliet, a hybrid energy facility in the Netherlands that combines wind generators, solar panels, and batteries in a single location.
The company installed six generators totaling 22 MW, 115,000 photovoltaic panels totaling 38 MW, and a 12 MW storage system with 288 BMW batteries packed in 12 sea containers at the energy mega-park, which is located 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) south of Rotterdam. All three technologies use the same grid connection.
