Primergy Solar, a subsidiary of Australia's Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Gemini's developer, has announced that Kiewit Power Constructors has been selected as the project's engineering, procurement, and construction lead. The battery storage integrator will be IHI Terrasun Solutions. Maxeon Solar Technologies, a Singapore-based company, has been chosen to supply high-efficiency bifacial solar modules.
When completed, the Gemini project will be a 690 MWac/966 MWdc solar array with a 1,416 MWh storage facility that will mostly serve Nevada. More than 1.8 million solar panels will be installed at Gemini, which will be located on around 6,500 acres of federal land near Las Vegas. During the construction phase, the project is expected to generate about 1,000 jobs, with completion scheduled for 2023.
