Uzbekistan launches teaser for tender of 200 MW wind project in Karakalpakstan

The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan is partnering with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to launch a request for qualification (RFQ) tender for the development of a 200 MW wind project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. 

The project will be implemented in about 6,500 hectares of area in the Beruniy and Qorao’zak districts of Karakalpakstan. It is promoted by the JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan (JSC NEGU), the Ministry of Energy (MOE), the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade (MIFT), the Ministry of Finance (MOF), and the Public-Private Partnership Development Agency under the MOF (PPPDA).

The following experts have been appointed to support the preparation of the project: Synergy Consulting Infrastructure and Financial Advisory Services Inc.  (financial and lead transaction advisor), White & Case (legal advisor), and Gopa-Intec and Juru Energy (technical advisor).
