US Bureau of Land Management grants approval for 500 MW Oberon solar project

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) of the USA has granted approval to the 500 MW Oberon solar photovoltaic project that will be constructed on public lands in the desert region of Riverside County, California. 

The project will be built on about 2,600 acres of BLM-managed lands near Desert Center. Once operational, the solar complex can generate enough power for up to 142,000 homes. There will be a 200 MW battery storage system that will be coupled to the solar farm.
