The Environment Agency of the UK has received an application from energy developer Uniper for its proposed East Midlands Energy Re-Generation (EMERGE) Centre in Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station in Nottinghamshire.
The energy-from-waste plant energy-from-waste facility can accommodate up to 500,000 tonnes of pre-treated residual waster per year. The facility can generate up to about 49.9 MW.
The project represents about GBP330 million of capital infrastructure investment. Once approved by the relevant authorities, construction is expected to commence in 2022 with a target operational by 2025.
