Tembo Power has signed an agreement with water infra developer WK Construction to jointly develop the US$50 million run-of-river hydropower projects located in Burundi.

The agreement will also involve WK Construction as the preferred engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the 7.5 MW Dama and 12 MW Siguvyaye hydro plants. The company's investment arm, WK Power, will own a minority equity share in the projects.

Dama and Siguvyaye are expected to reach financial close in the third quarter of 2021.
