Tembo Power has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with Metier, a private equity fund manager, together with its partner WK Construction for developing a 14.7 MW Kaptis hydropower plant in Kenya.
The deal will allow the partners to appoint lenders and prepare for the financial closing and the construction of the project that is expected before the end of 2020.
Metier, through Metier Sustainable Capital International Fund II, will own the 40% stake in the project, while Tembo Power shall retain 40% and WK Power will hold a 20% stake.
WK Power, the investment arm of WK Construction will be the EPC contractor for the Kaptis project.
