The subsidiary of the Saudi Technology Development and Investment Company, Taqnia Energy, has completed the construction of Phase I of the 10 MW Layla Solar Plant located in Al-Aflaj, Saudi Arabia.
The project, built on an area of about 720,000 square meters, will be directly connected to the Saudi Arabian national grid for commercial operations. The facility will be upgraded to 40 MW after the Phase I construction.
The Layla Solar Plant was initiated through a joint venture between Taqnia Energy, the Saudi Electricity Company and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. Typsa, a Spanish engineering firm, is responsible for designing and overseeing construction.
