Global clean energy company TagEnergy has received planning approval for its 54 MW Sclenteuch Wind Farm in East and South Ayrshire, Scotland, allowing the project to move toward construction. The development, which will be supported by renewable energy developer RES, is expected to generate enough clean, low-cost electricity to power around 50,000 homes annually while strengthening Scotland's renewable energy capacity and energy security.

The approved project comprises nine wind turbines and forms part of TagEnergy's first investment in UK wind energy. Sclenteuch was one of four onshore wind projects acquired from RES in November 2025, with RES continuing to provide development services through the planning and delivery phases. The wind farm received consent from the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit in December 2025, paving the way for construction.

Beyond renewable power generation, the project is expected to deliver significant economic benefits to the region. Sclenteuch Wind Farm is forecast to attract approximately £9.6 million in local investment through jobs, employment and the use of local services. Over its operational lifetime, it is also expected to contribute more than £29 million in business rates to South Ayrshire Council and East Ayrshire Council, helping fund essential public services. Tailored community benefit packages will also be provided to local communities in line with their priorities.
