Switch and Capital Dynamics has started the construction 127 MW solar project with a 240 MWh battery storage system, located in Storey County, Nevada.
The project is part of the Gigawatt 1 portfolio, which Switch and its partners are investing $1.3 billion, creating up to 1000 jobs. Gigawatt 1 will use thousands of solar panels made by First Solar and battery storage utilizing Tesla Megapack, manufactured at the Tesla Gigafactory, in Storey County.
With the construction of the two projects in Clark and Storey counties, and 180 MW Townsite solar hybrid project in Boulder City, Gigawatt 1 will be able to generate a total of 555 MW of solar power and create 800 MW hours of battery storage.
The integrator of Gigawatt 1 is Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses who will use the Tesla Megapack. While the Energy shaping, development, construction, asset management & operations of all projects will be led Arevon, an affiliate of Capital Dynamics.
