Eolus Vind AB plans to build EUR 250 million 51-turbine wind farm project in Dobele and Tukums in western regions of Latvia. The project is supposed to be the largest wind farm in the Baltic country.
According to sources, the project will not get state support from the government. The mandatory procurement component rights have not been granted since 2012, so its output will be sold on the wholesale market.
The construction is expected to start at the end of 2018 or early 2019, while the completion is expected in 2022. Eolus aims to construct the project regardless of the government's policy. Eolus is currently working on the environmental impact assessment.
